4/21/2003 //forums.delphiforums.com/kievreport/messages?msg=5200.24 Two weeks ago, i have the same experience as you when i bougt a ARAX non MLU kit. Fast reactivity from Gevorg, big customer care, very good delivery delays, many posts updating customer on the delivery process(money reception, fabrication delays, date of shipping). The camera came in good working state, film transport checked, focus clearly aligned, shutter working fine. Somehow, there are some things perfectible: a nice, complete online manual(in PdF) format, including the advices of the various user's sites (Kiev do an dont ect..), a better neck strap (the strap and the metalic inserts), replacement of the old Waist Level Finder by the new ones when the magnifier will be out of the box in focus, advertisement of the loss of the auto max aperture viewing with B mount lenses used with the adaptor ring, and a real procedure(access to the setting resistors in the spot prism) to recallibrate the meter when changing the focusing screen(the meter in itself needs revorking: more precise engraving of film sensibilities by 1/3 EV, better engraving of the diaphragm values by 1/3 EV, better display diodes, 3(old type) with 1/3 EV lightnig threshold). And last, the NT backs darkslide problem. Sometyme, after an uncomplete attempt at firing the camera, the interlock security engage, preventing to insert back the darkslide to remove the back...To solve the problem, set the back on multiexp, camera on 1/1000, lens on min aperture, lens cap on, fire the shutter, if there was a picture done, wind it normally( and everything is normal)if there had not been a picture taken, just actuate again the multiexp lever, rewind and take normaly the next pic(this is not an ARAX body problem, it can occur with all NT backs, and a little grinding in seems on the long term solve the problem). Othervise, i have a lot of ideas for ARAX FOTO tech people to improve the camera (coupling the meter with speeds, apertures and film sensitivity, making a stopdown lever on the body, giving better electronics to the meter, and systematically rebuilding; muticoating ant antiflare treating all the lenses ARAX sells (thus, putting MC ARAX trademark on them?) Good pictures, Jean Claude
